Nineteen members of the Northwood High School swim team were honored with the Charter Oak Award at Northwood High School, one of the school's most prestigious honors which recognizes students who have demonstrated the highest academic achievement as well as extensive service and leadership.  These students embody "the intelligence, dedication, and passion for learning that defines truly exemplary individuals."  This is how the group was described at a recent awards ceremony.  

The Charter Oak Award is given out to individuals who represent the top 3% of their respective classes and disciplines.  A student may receive an Academic Excellence award or a Merit award depending on the subject.  

Congratulations to all the NHS swim team student athletes who have been named Charter Oak Award recipients.  As a Charter Oak Award recipient, you have distinguished yourselves among a pool of talented students from Northwood High School. 

Take pride in this well-deserved recognition and continue to pursue your educational goals with enthusiasm and determination.  Your dedication to your studies and your commitment to excellence are commendable.
