Christopher Leung, a senior at Northwood High School, has verbally committed to swim for Northwestern University Wildcats class of 2027.
Leung specializes in the 200 IM, and owns the Northwood High School record (1:48.54), along with setting the 50 Free 20.86 last season. Leung swims year-round with Irvine Novaquatics during the club season, and has developed into a very effective breaststroker as well.

As a junior, Leung was a finalist at the 2022 CIF Southern Section Division 1 Championships last May finishing 2nd in the 200 IM (1:48.57) and 3rd 100 Breast (55.90). He also anchored the 4th place 200 Medley relay (Free-20.34).
Leung had an impressive long course season this year achieving Summer Junior qualifications in the 50 Free, 100 Free, 100 Breast, 200 Breast, 100 Fly and 400 IM. Chris has USA Swimming Future qualifications in the SCY 100 free, 200 free, and 400 IM, as well as the LCM 200 free and 400 free.
Northwestern University is a private college and member of the Big Ten Conference. At the 2022 Men's Big Ten Swimming and Diving Championships, Northwestern finished 6th out of 8 teams. Leung has the opportunity to add depth for the Wildcats.
Leung will be enrolled at Northwestern University as a student majoring in Computer Science.
